3D Sculptor and Modeler who goes by the name of Bbbn19, known for creating stunning projects in Blender, has updated the cool Mimic effect made with Geometry Nodes. The effect was made earlier and depicts an alien known as Mimic from the 2014 sci-fi movie Edge Of Tomorrow. Besides looking impressive, this project shows that it is possible to use Blender's Geometry Nodes even for creature art.
The author comments that the new version of the effect uses curve meshes, while the previous one was using instanced spikes. The effect only works with Blender 3.0+ and can be downloaded via the artist's Gumroad page.
