Elden Ring has set a new record in the games industry – the FromSpftware's title has reportedly received 331 Game of the Year awards surpassing The Last of Us Part II which received 322 awards.
That's according to a ResetEra research held by user BrickArts295 with the support of other forum members. During the research, a team of gamers tracked the number of Game of the Year awards for the major titles released in 2022 – the calculation includes both the opinion of media outlets and polls voted on by audiences.
According to BrickArts295, the Soullike has received 287 awards from professional publications, and another 44 from gamer polls. In total, Elden Ring has received 331 awards setting an absolute record for the industry – no other title has ever received such a number of wins in the Game of the Year category.
Here's the full list of games that received Game of the Year awards in 2022, according to the ResetEra research (as of January 4, 2023):
