Musk's proposed artificial intelligence will try to "understand the nature of the universe".
Following the recent report that Elon Musk founded X.AI, a new artificial intelligence-focused company, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter has also announced that he is working on TruthGPT, a "maximum truth-seeking AI" and a direct competitor to OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's DeepMind.
During an interview with Fox News's Tucker Carlson, the entrepreneur noted that the goal is to create an AI that would try to "understand the nature of the universe", with the hope that if TruthGPT knows a lot about the cosmos, it would make it less likely to "annihilate humans", simply because we as a species "are an interesting part of the universe".
Musk also expressed concerns that current AI-powered chatbots, such as ChatGPT developed by OpenAI, a company that Musk himself helped found, are overly moderated and politically-correct, positioning TruthGPT as an alternative.
