There have been many discussions about AI potentially displacing jobs, and that appears to be a valid concern. According to a recent report, the number of entry-level positions, such as junior roles and internships, has dropped by a third since the launch of one of the most popular AI models, ChatGPT.

As reported by The Times, the number of entry-level jobs has decreased by 31.9%. The most affected spheres are retail, IT, and accounting and finance. In retail alone, the number of open positions has reduced by 78.2% in the period from November 2022 to May 2025.

The cases of using ChatGPT for completing human's work are controversial. Thus, it turned out that the AI model managed to craft a legislative proposal in Brazil. Of course, it wasn't the artificial intelligence that solely worked on the task, as the creator provided a 49-word prompt. Another report claimed that AI could take over 40% of public-sector jobs, though experts have criticized the study for relying on ChatGPT-4 to make such predictions, calling the methodology unreliable.

However, despite its growing capabilities, ChatGPT still has a lot to learn, particularly in handling factual information. Several tests have shown that its hallucination rates increase when it's overwhelmed with too much data.

Therefore, the use of AI models must be controlled and regulated. Last year, the European Artificial Intelligence Act, which is the first comprehensive act regulating the use of AI, entered into force, which might become a foundation for other countries' regulation.
