Epic Games Announces the Winners of Better Light Than Never Challenge

After studying more than 400 entries, the Unreal Engine team announced the winners and runners-up of their lighting challenge.

The Unreal Engine team has announced the winners and runners-up of the Better Light Than Never challenge, a competition that tasked experienced developers and students to show off their lighting abilities and create a short video using Unreal Engine only, without using any other additional software or post-production tools.

After studying over 400 striking entries, the team has finally revealed a list of works that impressed them the most in two categories – Individual and Student. According to Epic's earlier announcements, the Grand Prize winners will get $1,000 and receive some other additional prizes from KitBash3D and Sketchfab, and runners-up will also receive some special rewards.

And here's the list of winners:

Grand Prize, Individual: Tom Bentkowski – Imagine

First Runner-Up, Individual: Juanma Liceras – Natural

Second Runner-Up, Individual: Dmitry Shevchenko – Abandoned Medieval Town

Grand Prize, Student: Anthony Perales – Tropical Cave

First Runner-Up, Student: Diana Karakushyan – The Light of Hope

Second Runner-Up, Student: King Jolan Oledan – Never Too Late
