Previous versions
Epic Games released a stable version of Twinmotion 2022.2 – an update to the real-time visualization tool. There are two major additions in this update: HDRI Backdrops and a physics-based asset placement tool.
Backdrop HDRI activates a new representation of the environment based on a hemispherical object in the scene. Unlike the HDRI Skydome, they include a ground surface that can receive shadows. Backdrops' resolution is limited to 1K for Twinmotion Cloud Presentations. The update also adds 258 new HDRI environments and 30 new studio HDRIs suitable for product shots.
The physics-based asset placement tool enables using collision and gravity simulations in real-time inside the viewport for object placement. The new Move with collision and Gravity tools allow placing objects realistically.
The tools are in an early stage of development, so they can only work with simple geometry meshes and sometimes don't work perfectly.
The final version also includes the Sketchfab library support, the ability to import glTF and glB files, and rendering at 16K resolution introduced in Twinmotion 2022.2 Preview 2.
Twinmotion is available for Windows 10+ and macOS 10.14.6+. The MSRP for it is $499 for a perpetual license; there is also a free trial.
