Epic Games has formally unveiled their agenda for the upcoming Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2024, an annual event celebrating all things gamedev, scheduled to run from March 18 to March 22, revealing their plans to showcase the future of game development with its State of Unreal keynote, conduct 30+ sessions and tech talks, and provide a look at the upcoming Unreal Engine 5.4.
With its yearly State of Unreal keynote, Epic aims to discuss the latest advancements in their tools, share updates from their partners, and elaborate on how developers can benefit even more from Epic Games' ecosystem, thus providing a comprehensive look at their vision for the future of game development.
Following the keynote, the team intends to host over 30 insightful tech talks and sessions, offering a deep dive into the latest technologies, Nanite, UEFN, creature art in UE5, stylization techniques, Verse, and much more. A particular highlight is the scheduled session on Unreal Engine 5.4, a new version of the company's flagship game engine, where Epic wants to share a sneak peek at what's coming to the software's animation toolset with the next update.
Additionally, the team will be available for in-person meetings at booth S527 at the Moscone Center, the venue for GDC 2024. The booth will include a learning theater, the latest Unreal Engine and Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) tech demos and projects, and a dedicated Playables section where attendees can experience some of the most innovative UEFN games.
