Epic Online Services Launches Free In-Game Voice and Easy Anti-Cheat

Developers can now implement two more free features.

Epic Games revealed they now have over 500 million accounts with 2.7 billion friend connections across Fortnite, Rocket League, and the Epic Games Store. The database is powered by Epic Online Services, a free service that allows developers to easily launch, operate, and scale their games using any engine, store, or platform of their choice.

The team announced they are launching two highly-anticipated free services: Voice and Easy Anti-Cheat.

First, there's Voice, a new cross-platform voice communication service to integrate in-game voice chat functionality into projects using any major game engine. The feature was previously integrated and battle-tested in Fortnite allowing users to chat and play with their friends.

As for Easy Anti-Cheat, which joined the Epic family in 2018, it is a well-established brand with nearly a decade of experience servicing over a hundred online PC games worldwide. The service is said to handle millions of users at peak times.
