Ernst & Young is Using Deepfakes to Talk to Clients

Standard presentations are too boring without AI digital doubles.

Partners at EY, a company formerly known as Ernst & Young, have reportedly started using AI solutions to reach and attract clients. The firm decided to enhance client presentations or routine emails with synthetic talking-head-style video clips featuring virtual body doubles of their representatives. These digital doubles were made with the help of Synthesia’s technology which is similar to well-known deepfakes.

The project is co-developed with the UK startup in an effort to replace traditional ways to communicate with clients. Zoom calls and traditional presentations don't bring the desired results, so the company decided to try something new.

EY started using their doubles in emails and during presentations to speed things up and test new creative ways of communication.

"We’re using it as a differentiator and reinforcement of who the person is," said Jared Reeder from EY. "As opposed to sending an email and saying ‘Hey we’re still on for Friday,’ you can see me and hear my voice."

What do you think about this experiment? Can synthesized doubles replace traditional communications?
