Battlestate Games introduced a new "standalone" session-based multiplayer FPS which will place players in gladiatorial battles across Tarkov.
Battlestate Games, the developer behind the first-person shooter Escape from Tarkov, revealed a new first-person shooter game, Escape from Tarkov: Arena, and shared the announcement teaser trailer.
The developers noted that the title comes as a "standalone game project", so players won't need to have the original Escape from Tarkov in order to play the game. And for those who have the Edge of Darkness pack, the PvP spin-off will be available for free as a DLC.
Like the original game, Escape from Tarkov: Arena will be set in the city of Tarkov, although now players will be placed in gladiatorial battles "organized by a mysterious group of Arena Masters led by the Host."
The developers shared that the game will have "all the known and beloved hardcore game mechanics" of the original game and will feature multiple PvP and PvE game modes, ratings, weapon, and gear unlock. The players of the mainline Escape from Tarkov game will also get some unique features like the ability to play as their main profile character.
The release date of the game is currently unknown but the developers noted that they will launch closed testing in the fall of 2022.
Like the original game, Escape from Tarkov: Arena will be available from the official site here.
