The Escape Studios team organizes the event on the 10th of October, where the special guests from The Third Floor and Industrial Light & Magic will share exclusive career advice.
The speakers will discuss career advice, how to start in the VFX industry and what it's like to work for major players in the industry like DreamWorks Animation, DNEG, Framestore, and more. The participants will get advice from Brad Blackbourn, Virtual Production Manager at The Third Floor, and Scott Pritchard, Associate VFX Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic.
Brad is a Creative Visualiser, Director and Virtual Cinematographer with 25+ years of experience helping shape visual storytelling on ground-breaking feature films, TV series, Theme Park Attractions, VR/AR/MR experiences & TV commercials in the USA, Europe, Asia & Australia. Brad has worked with key industry creatives to help design, integrate and support new Virtual Production tools and technologies, such as the award-winning app Cyclops. Previously, Brad has held many key creative supervision roles including Head of Layout & Previs at DreamWorks Animation, Head of Previs at DNEG, Director of Photography at Framestore, and Supervising Director at Stardust Entertainment. Brad has supervised many BAFTA and Academy Award-nominated projects and is an active member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
Scott has 19 years of VFX experience and before joining Industrial Light & Magic, he spent seven years at DNEG where in 2011 he received a VES award for his compositing work on Inception. Scott was one of the first artists to join Industrial Light & Magic's new London studio in 2014 for Avengers: Age of Ultron. Since then he has worked on several features including Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. In 2019, he joined the Industrial Light & Magic TV department as Visual Effects Supervisor for Brave New World, before going on to supervise The Stand, The Pale Blue Eye, and the latest Star Wars Episodic series, Andor.
