Exil: An Anime-Style Metroidvania Inspired by Hollow Knight & Cuphead

The game's Kickstarter campaign is set to launch in May, according to the recent announcement.

Solo Game Developer and head of Mystic Clockwork Studio Napat Saeung has recently announced that the Kickstarter campaign for Exil, the developer's upcoming anime-style post-apocalyptic Metroidvania inspired by Hollow Knight and Cuphead, will launch later this month.

First announced back in September 2022, the game is set in a post-war world inhabited primarily by androids, who, unlike their creators, survived the war and are now living on massive floating islands caused by the destructions.

Featuring a peculiar hand-drawn art style and music written by Kenichiro Suehiro, an experienced composer who worked on such titles as Re:Zero, Goblin Slayer, and Fire Force, the game is set to include a vast atmospheric world, a multilayered story, and action-packed fights.

Features:

  • Rich, vast, atmospheric world filled with massive dungeons, complex cities, and exotic biomes.
  • A diverse range of hand-painted environments, seamlessly woven together into multiple mega-floating islands.
  • Tight and fluid controls that are easy to learn, but hard to master.
  • An arsenal of ability loadouts that are unlocked as you discover the unknown and fight overwhelming hordes of enemies and formidable bosses.

At the moment, the exact launch date for the campaign remains undisclosed, so we highly encourage you to follow Exil on Kickstarter so as not to miss any future updates.
