Explosive Water Gun Animation in Blender, Houdini & Cinema 4D

The project was made by Zavier Choo.

Take a look at this hilarious first-person shooter-style exploding water gun animation created by Zavier Choo, a Motion Designer and 3D Artist. Using a retextured version of what appears to be Annelida's water gun model from Sketchfab, the sequence was set up using a combination of 3D software, including Houdini, Cinema 4D, and Blender.

Besides the animation itself, the creator also shared a concise breakdown showing how the gun and hands models were prepared for animation, how the smoke FX looked during production, and more. You can check out the full animation and breakdown embedded above or by visiting Zavier's Instagram page.
