Half-Life: Interlude is a mod by PegaXing that tells the story set after the events of Half-Life 2.
Half-Life: Interlude, a mod for Valve's Half-Life 2, recently received an update, and new gameplay videos were revealed.
The mod is planned to be a fan version of Half-Life 3, the long-awaited installment to the Half-Life franchise. "Half-Life: Interlude follows the events beyond Episode 2, with new environments, enemies, and immersive gameplay crafted to feel like Valve’s original quality," the description reads. The mod continues the game's storyline where Episode Two ended. Gordon Freeman finds himself amidst the wreckage of a helicopter, and "the Combine is ruthlessly hunting him down."
Half-Life: Interlude has been in development since 2016. We haven't heard the news about the fan project for several months, and recently, its creator known as PegaXing showcased two gameplay videos:
In June, the modder shared that the demo creation was almost completed but didn't announce the release date.
Recently, another Half-Life mod aimed at creating the third episode of the series, Project Borealis, also returned with a new teaser trailer. Valve's Half-Life 2 was released almost 20 years ago, and there's no news about the sequel. However, there were rumors that Valve was working on a new game in which you play as Gordon Freeman, even if it wouldn't be called Half-Life 3.
