Fight Mass Mutating Everything In This Retro-Inspired Gory Bullet Hell

Check out Iron Meat, a fast-paced pixel art-style shooter set in a world overrun by all-consuming interdimensional biomass, where you will battle against mutated creatures and machines with a mix of classic arcade and console mechanics in nine levels of gore-ific brutality.

Iron Meat is an intense run-and-gun shooter game made by a single developer Ivan Suvarov, who has been working on the project for over five years.

In this graphic pixelated violence and gore through and through game, you will blast your way through retro-inspired stages and bosses as Vadim, a hero fighting against the invading monstrosity called "The Meat" in order to stop the terrors spawned from scientist Yuri Markov's secret experiments on the Moon.

Iron Meat pays homage to classic titles with intense boss fights fixed into multiple phases. The game comes with three difficulty settings to choose from, where a higher difficulty is rewarded with an even more challenging boss battle.

Luckily, you don't have to take on The Meat invasion alone, because Iron Meat features 2-player local co-op to get a reliable buddy on a bloody adventure to hunt Meat-infected creatures together. Yes, it's double the firepower, double the carnage, and also double The Meat.

Even in this hell of a world, there's time for customization. Actually, you don't even have to be a human to fight against The Meat.

With over 30 unlockable skins, players can design their characters the way they want. Each skin comes with interchangeable parts, allowing for greater customization with mixing and matching. A shark head on a robot body with dinosaur feet? Maybe a half-human, half-dog? How about a cowboy with a tail and demon wings?

The developer regularly shares the game updates including clips and character designs on the X/Twitter game account.

There's also a free demo available on the game's Steam page to download and try it out. Iron Meat is set to release in 2024 across multiple platforms including Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
