Final Fantasy IX Gets an Official Prequel Picture Book Featuring Vivi

Final Fantasy IX has received an official prequel story in the form of a picture book, released on May 19 and now available on Amazon.

Titled Final Fantasy IX Picture Book: Vivi and Grandpa's Memories for the Sky, the book is written by Kazuhiko Aoki, Final Fantasy IX event designer, and illustrated by Toshiyuki Itahana, a Final Fantasy IX character designer.

The 44-page story follows Vivi as Grandpa Quan fishes him out of the ocean and begins to raise him; the two share a quiet, joyful life filled with good food and companionship, until the day comes for Vivi to set out on his own journey.
