Find Survivors & Escape Flooded World in This Tale about Friendship
Highwater promises turn-based puzzle combat, exploration thrill, and captivating music.
Games about post-apocalypses are always full of possibilities and make me curious about what horrors to end our days the developers have come up with. In Highwater, it's the Great Climate Catastrophe, an event that hits close to home.
The planet is flooded, but rumors of a rocket heading toward Mars fuel Nikos and friends' hope. Now all they need to do is sneak onto the ship and be saved. Sounds easy enough, but unwanted visitors are not welcome, so they have to fight their way through the obstacles and seek help from other survivors.
"Amid the Great Climate Catastrophe, the flooded region of Hightower has become a kind of safe zone between the two dry regions: the nearly global ravaged land of the War Zone, and the fortified city of Alphaville, where the ultra-rich live behind giant walls."

The developer Demagog Studio promises a melancholic but humorous narrative-driven adventure about friendship, complete with turn-based combat "with a twist." You need to exercise your puzzle-solving skills in battle, finding the best way to get rid of enemies using the environment around you: "Knock down a tree, push a shopping cart into an enemy, or duck behind a turned over car to gain the advantage."

The world might be deep underwater, but there is still a lot to explore on your boat. Find new islands, interact with citizens, and gather resources to survive and get a second chance at life – all accompanied by charming music from Highwater Pirate Radio.
