Firewalk Joins the PlayStation Studios Family
The newly acquired team is already working on its first AAA multiplayer IP for PlayStation.
PlayStation Studios has announced the acquisition of Firewalk Studios, a relatively-new game development studio that specializes primarily in creating multiplayer experiences. As stated by Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst, Firewalk's team of developers and creators will help them in growing and expanding their live service operations and will focus on delivering a new game that would connect people " in new and innovative ways". According to PlayStation, the newly acquired team is already working on their first original AAA multiplayer IP for PlayStation, currently unannounced.
"Since announcing our publishing partnership with ProbablyMonsters and Firewalk in 2021, we continue to be impressed by the team’s ambitions to build a modern multiplayer game that connects players in new and innovative ways," commented Hulst. "The studio shares our passion for creating inspiring worlds grounded in exceptional gameplay, and we want to continue to invest in their mission. We’re excited for Firewalk to bring their technical and creative expertise to PlayStation Studios to help grow our live service operations and deliver something truly special for gamers.
