Seven years since its release, Fortnite's popularity is well-known to its fans and beyond. However, people who prefer a first-person shooter will rather choose Apex Legends, since with all its vast array of gameplay modes, Fortnite is still a third-person shooter.
The possibility of Fortnite to include a first-person perspective has been around for quite some time. Still, as of now the game only allows it in a very few game modes under certain conditions, like editing an island, or there are some weapons in the game that switch into first-person. This will finally change according to the latest Epic Games announcement during the State of Unreal livestream at GDC 2024.

During this section, Epic Games revealed a public roadmap for Fortnite and confirmed that the game will finally receive a first-person camera perspective later this year. It's not clear yet if this will be available as a default mode or a separate one, but it will be great to look at various Fortnite skins and locations because the game graphics are actually pretty nice and filled with multiple items you would want to take a closer look at.
Along with a first-person camera, Fortnite's roadmap includes a number of other upcoming additions like item trading and custom quests. Epic Games will be also adding Fall Guys assets and animations to Fortnite, and as of now, there are already Rocket Racing Island Templates available to design your own Rocket Racing gameplay.
