The launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 today has encountered some issues, with players experiencing problems getting past the loading screen. Some players are stuck at 97%, while others are stopped at lower percentages. The developers are actively working to resolve these issues.
The main reason, according to the developers, is that “Over 7,790 add-ons from the MSFS 2020 in-sim marketplace have been successfully converted to MSFS 2024, but we recently discovered that some items are incompatible and can block MSFS 2024 from loading altogether.” Plus, players seem have been overly excited for Microsoft’s “most ambitious simulator to date,” which has caused the server to overload, resulting in delays and errors that lead to more than two hours of loading time, as well as aircraft missing from the screens of My Library and Aircraft Select.

According to the official blog, the developers were already aware of these issues during the last days before the release; however, it was “too late to address for the launch.” Microsoft said that for anyone who gets stuck at a point later than 90%, a reboot might help; otherwise, players shall wait for further updates on the status.
As seen in the video clip shared by Twitter user phxtri, some players are seeing an errored loading screen with a tip saying, “Too many users are trying to connect at the same time.” Therefore, players are having a few hours of “playtime” without successfully getting into the game.
The next generation of a 42-year-old legendary video game franchise, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been released on Xbox Series X/S and PC via MS Store and Steam. And as you probably already predicted, the Steam review has been "overwhelmingly negative" for obvious reasons.
