Former Blizzard President Becomes CEO of Fantasy Sports Company
Mike Ybarra will also join the board of directors at PrizePicks.
Mike Ybarra left his position as the president of Blizzard Entertainment in January, soon after the massive layoffs that cut 1,900 positions at Activision and Xbox. Now, he is the CEO of the "skill-based daily fantasy sports operator" PrizePicks.
Ybarra spent over 2 decades at Blizzard and is taking this veteran knowledge to PrizePicks, where he is also joining the board of directors. He has taken over the duties of Adam Wexler, PrizePicks' founder and previous CEO, who is now moving to the role of executive chairman.
“I am impressed with the passion, positive energy and incredible team at PrizePicks and want to thank Adam and the Board for this opportunity. PrizePicks is the most exciting company in sports entertainment today, and it's an honor to join as CEO. I have tremendous respect for the foundation that Adam has built and look forward to working with him and the team,” said Ybarra.
PrizePicks offers users opportunities to earn money with a range of fantasy sports, including NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, WNBA, esports, and soccer. They need to pick their player lineups and wait for the results of team competitions. I am no sports fan, so you should check out the details on PrizePicks or any other fantasy sports site.
