Framestore & HP Become Members of the Academy Software Foundation

The ASWF announced the addition of Framestore and HP as its new members and shared details about its upcoming Open Source Forum.

The Academy Software Foundation (ASWF) has announced the addition of Framestore and HP as its new members.

According to the ASWF, despite the companies coming from different backgrounds, digital content creation and solutions development, respectively, they both support the mission of the ASWF, which provides a neutral forum for open-source software developers to exchange resources and work together on technologies relevant to the entertainment industry.

"Framestore has already been involved in many of our open-source projects, and we’re delighted to have their continued support. We’re also excited to welcome HP and look forward to working and collaborating with them," Executive Director of the ASWF David Morin commented.

The ASWF also shared that it is now actively preparing for its annual Open Source Forum, the event which brings together business and technical leaders to assess the progress of open source software in the motion picture and media industries. The event will take place on February 16, 2023 at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, CA.
