“Frankenstein” Cinematographer Dan Laustsen Joins VIEW Conference 2025

Next week, two-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dan Laustsen will be featured in a pre-recorded interview at VIEW Conference.

Laustsen’s visual style has shaped some of the most memorable films of recent years, from The Shape of Water to Nightmare Alley. Both films earned him Oscar® nominations for Best Cinematography. With Frankenstein, Laustsen and del Toro reunite once more, crafting a visually rich reimagining of Mary Shelley’s timeless tale through the lens of gothic beauty.

This year’s VIEW Conference, running October 12-17, 2025, in Turin, Italy, is set to host a great lineup of directors, artists, and innovators shaping the worlds of animation, VFX, and interactive storytelling.

Among the confirmed guests are:

  • Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian (Elio)
  • Alessandro Carloni (The Cat in the Hat)
  • Pierre Perifel (The Bad Guys 2)
  • Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans (KPop Demon Hunters)

Held annually in Turin, VIEW Conference is the leading international event uniting professionals from animation, VFX, games, and immersive media. The conference provides a platform where Hollywood directors, Silicon Valley innovators, and global artists share insights and imagine the future of visual storytelling.

Supported by major industry partners such as Netflix, Industrial Light & Magic, Lenovo, Nvidia, AMD, Accenture, Sony Pictures Animation, and many others, VIEW Conference continues to grow as a hub for creativity and collaboration.
