Funky 3D Animation Inspired by a Legendary Anime Classic
Okay, three, two, one, let's jam!
Concept Artist and Illustrator Tyler Tilly, also known as Whyyler, has recently paid tribute to one of the greatest anime series of all time, presenting a funky 3D animation inspired by Sunrise's neo-noir space Western, Cowboy Bebop.
Depicting the show's protagonist Spike enjoying NELAC's remix of the iconic Tank! opening theme, the sequence boasts an impressive retro-like visual style, achieved by down-resing each texture individually using a procedural node. According to Tyler, the animation was set up in Blender, a popular jack-of-all-trades 3D software, with the PS2-looking Spike model comprising only around 1K tris.
