Future Light-Painting Leather Technology Announced
Infinix promises you can change your smartphone’s back cover just by using light.
Infinix announced Future Light-Painting Leather – the "industry-first technology" that works when UV light interacts with the smartphone’s back cover, adding different color options.
"Infinix seeks to improve the aesthetic experience of the modern-day smartphone through the use of innovative materials and fresh new colors. With Future Light-Painting Leather technology, users can experience satisfying color-changing as well as custom patterns created by shading light on the back cover of their smartphones. It introduces a unique way for our customers to interact with their smartphones and to express themselves," said Manfred Hong, Senior Product Director of Infinix.
Infinix integrated photochromic polymers into the leather, where the molecular structure changes from the UV light, which causes the color to change. When you take your phone back indoors, the leather reverts to its original color. The technology doesn't require additional energy from the smartphone to make color changes.
Future Light-Painting Leather looks pretty impressive, but we will have to wait for the company's future smartphones to see it in action.
