Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve, will reportedly spend $300 million on the development of his ocean research organization, Inkfish.
Currently, the construction of a 100-meter explorer-style research ship RV6000 is underway. As estimated by Luxurylaunches, the vessel costs about $300 million, which makes the ship one of the most expensive research vessels.
According to a report by SuperYacht Times, RV6000 features modern laboratories, workshops, offices, and such comfort-oriented facilities as premium accommodation and recreational spaces. The ship can support up to 70 scientists and operates on low noise and vibration levels.

Inkfish already has RV Dagon and RV Hydra ships at its disposal, but the new vessel is said to be the most technically progressive and excessive in size. Gabe Newell also owns a custom yacht builder, Oceanco.
