Games Ground 2025: A Sneak Peek at the Program

From November 13-16, 2025, the historic Alte Münze will host the third edition of Games Ground Berlin, and this year’s festival promises to be bigger, bolder, and more ambitious than ever, with expectations of over 8,000 attendees.

Games Ground 2025 kicks off with 2 Business Days, creating a powerhouse networking and learning hub for developers, publishers, investors, and creators. With 60+ sessions across 4 stages, the program covers art, design, technology, business, and community.

Highlights include:

  • Fernando Forero (Blizzard Entertainment) unpacking UI lessons from Diablo IV, The Witcher 3, and Cyberpunk 2077.
  • Mitsuo Hirakawa (Twitch) and Wouter van Vugt (Bandai Namco Europe) on community engagement strategies.
  • Vojta Nedved (Warhorse Studios) breaking down the sound design of Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
  • Andrew Yoder and Hanna Hoffman (MachineGames) revealing insights into Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
  • Lauren Hunter (Square Enix Collective) and Maria Maunula (Supercell) discussing the challenges of modern game production.
  • An Impact Track by the Sustainable Games Alliance exploring responsibility, sustainability, and resilience in game development

Beyond talks, initiatives like Publisher Connect, Mentor Ground, and Career Ground (powered by Unity, 8Bit, and Skillsearch) will create bridges between new talent and global players such as Square Enix Collective, Raw Fury, and Kepler Interactive.

When the weekend hits, Games Ground shifts gears into 2 Public Days, a full-on celebration of play, creativity, and culture. Expect an open LAN area with League of Legends and new favorites like Rematch, the return of the Ultimate Super Smash Bros. Tournament, and a Magic: The Gathering zone supported by Wizards of the Coast. Visitors can explore an exhibition hall packed with demos, unreleased titles, and special announcements.

Other highlights include:

  • Retro gaming curated by Nerdistan and Computerspielemuseum.
  • A Community Stage with creators like Dennsen86 and Sven The Blind Warrior, plus meet & greet sessions.
  • A vibrant Cosplay Contest and Catwalk hosted by Sakide, complete with Kryolan-supported surprises.
  • Interactive workshops ranging from kids’ game design journeys to comic creation and console repair.
  • Live concerts, XR experiences, and immersive performances - from the XR Dungeon to shows by Butterfly Wars and World of Sickness
