Gedonia: An Old-School Open-World RPG In the Vein of Breath of Wild

The game has an expansive open world that features a variety of puzzles and an array of enemies and gives players the ability to choose any class they want, like a warrior, assassin, or mage, or create their own class.

Following over two years of being in Early Access, the open-world RPG Gedonia, created by solo game developer Oleg
Kazakov, was finally released on Steam on October 14.

The game has received over 90% positive reviews on Steam based on over 1381 ratings, with players praising it for its excellent old RPG style, deep story, complex crafting and building, interesting puzzles, and cool pig rides. However, some players also criticized the game's not very smart AI and its bosses which are sometimes too hard to kill.

Gedonia is described as an open-world roleplaying game, inspired by old-school classics with players also comparing it to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Genshin Impact due to similar graphics and an emphasis on finding puzzles in the open world.
In the game, you play as a traveler and an adventure seeker who explores the enormous world of Gedonia discovering hidden treasures and mysteries and fighting a range of enemies along the way. Players have complete freedom of building their character, so you basically can be anyone you want – from a skillful crafter or strong warrior to a powerful mage.

Players can join different factions, with each of them having its own lore, characters, stories, and quests. The game offers multiple ways to complete each quest and has a number of mysteries and puzzles to solve. While exploring Gedonia, you can conquer dungeons, find loot, and fight with an array of enemies and bosses. Your character doesn't have to fight alone – you can also find and recruit allies to join you.
