Players' Voice is sure loud this year.
The winners of The Game Awards nominations are chosen through both public and jury voting. All but one: Players' Voice is a fully fan-driven category, and this is where a war has started between Genshin Impact and Sonic Frontiers fans.
A couple of days ago, the blue hedgehog was dominating the vote, with around 48%, however, in just a day, Genshin Impact jumped really high and caught up with Sonic. What an impressive feat! In fact, so impressive that some suspected bots had something to do with it.
On the other hand, Sonic's overwhelming popularity in the nomination was suspicious to some players, and several accounts say bots were used for it first. Whatever the case, this one award drove a wedge between the fandoms, making them ask The Game Awards to recount the numbers. The preliminary results have been removed from the website, so it's hard to say what's going on there now.
We will find out which game wins Players' Voice soon enough – on December 8. You still have a chance to vote for your favorite title here.
