Goat Simulator 3 Advert Taken Down After Using Leaked GTA VI Footage

Rockstar owner Take-Two issued a takedown notice after it was revealed that the playful Goat Simulator 3 advert featured GTA VI leaked footage that occurred earlier this year.

Goat Simulator 3 developer Coffee Stain North has taken down an advert that included leaked Grand Theft Auto VI footage following a complaint from the copyright holder, Rockstar Games' owner Take-Two Interactive.

The comedic advert was published on December 19 and featured an NPC named Shaun who discussed his role as a ragdoll NPC in Goat Simulator 3.

"To get this job, I had to be prepared both mentally and physically," he said. "I mean, you get thrown around quite much and it has to look good, so I spend quite some time at the most prestigious ragdolling school in the world. I learned a lot and I think I turned out to be a pretty good ragdoll."

Apart from discussing his role in Goat Simulator 3, Shaun spoke about his participation in other major games including GTA VI. "You can actually see me in some footage that was leaked a couple of months ago," Shaun says, and the video showcases a leaked Grand Theft Auto VI clip with the NPC edited in.

This footage is what led to Take-Two issuing takedowns of the video. Now, the Goat Simulator tweet with the advert features a black screen with the "This media has been disabled in response to a report by the copyright owner" message. The creators of Goat Simulator 3 reacted to the removal of the video with a GIF jokingly stating "I'm in danger."

Take-Two also now continues to actively remove the video from other websites like YouTube.

A major GTA VI gameplay leak happened in September 2022. Soon, the leak was confirmed by Rockstar itself with a message noting that the company is "extremely disappointed to have any details of our next game shared with you all in this way" and that the development of the game will continue as planned.
