God of War Ragnarök Reimagined as a PS1 Game

YouTuber Jackarte presented their version of the game imagining how it would have looked on the original PlayStation.

YouTuber Jackarte has recently presented a version of the recently-released God of War Ragnarök imagining how the game would have looked like if it was released in the 90s.

The creator published a demake trailer showing a vision of the game if it was created for the first generation of the PlayStation.

The trailer features characters shown in the original Ragnarök's trailer including Kratos and Atreus as well as Æsir god Tyr and Vanir goddess Freya who appear as low-poly models with blocky graphics, clumsy animations, and floating textures, typical of games from the original PlayStation.

Watching a demake trailer, viewers can notice that screenshots from the game were pixelated and used as backgrounds. The textures for character equipment seem to have been created in the same way.

A number of scenes of the demake trailer repeat moments from trailers or cutscenes of God of War Ragnarök. To visually show the similarities, Jackarte published another video where they compared their work with the source material.

In addition, the creator also released one more video which showcases all the characters they made for the PS1 demake trailer.
