The company offers refunds and game transfers.
Google's Stadia cloud gaming service might not have lived long but it left admirably – offering hardware and software refunds and transferring game progress to PC. On January 18, the service was officially shut down, but users have a free gamepad and Chromecast Ultra left if they decide to ask for their money back.
Stadia was announced in 2019, but the news about its end spread in 2022. Phil Harrison, Stadia's VP and General Manager, said that it was closing because it failed to attract a required user base and meet Google's expectations.
Many game developers started transferring accounts to other platforms after hearing about Stadia's fate. For example, Rockstar not only moved Red Dead Online info of a streamer with nearly 6,000 hours in the game but also sent them a package full of merch.
