Google is Allegedly Working on a Feature to Play Games on YouTube

The service is called "Playables" and will reportedly be available via he browser on desktop or the YouTube app on iOS and Android.

According to reports, Google is rumored to be developing a new feature that would enable YouTube users to play online games directly on the video platform.

Dubbed "Playables", was allegedly outlined in an email sent by Google to its employees, inviting them to participate in testing. The Wall Street Journal, which obtained access to the email, stated that games would be conveniently accessible on YouTube's website or through the iOS or Android YouTube app. The WSJ's report additionally contained some information regarding Stack Bounce, a brick breaker arcade game, describing it as one of the titles currently undergoing internal testing.

Google itself, however, refused to elaborate on the report, saying that while they continuously explore new features, they currently have no announcements to make.

"Gaming has long been a focus at YouTube," commented Google's spokesperson Alex McQuiston. "We're always experimenting with new features, but have nothing to announce right now."
