Steven Ogg said he's not a gamer and suggested reading Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment.
With GTA 6's launch inching closer and closer every day, there are probably only three kinds of people with zero feelings – positive or negative – about the next Grand Theft Auto entry: those entirely indifferent about the series, those with no ties to the gaming industry, and, somewhat surprisingly, Steven Ogg, the actor behind GTA 5's Trevor, who admitted in a recent interview that he doesn't really care about GTA 6.

When asked by YouTuber Harrison Shipp about his thoughts on GTA 6, Ogg revealed he feels "absolutely nothing inside" about the upcoming release, emphasizing that, despite portraying perhaps one of the most iconic video game characters to date, he himself is not a gamer and hasn't even played the installment he starred in.
He went on to recall an encounter with a fan who urged him to play GTA 5 "because it's so great," to which Ogg responded by recommending Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment, saying "it's the same thing" – both being among the most admired pieces in their respective fields and all – making it clear that video games simply aren't his thing and that he prefers books instead.
While some were quick to diss Ogg's take and call it "pretentious," it seems his point wasn't to boast about his familiarity with classic Russian literature, but to illustrate the oddness of someone not interested in games being bombarded with suggestions to play one. We all have that annoying pal who recommends shows or songs you don't want to watch or listen to – now imagine having thousands of fans doing the same thing every time they see you and calling you by the name of the character you portrayed over a decade ago instead of your real name. There you go.
It also seems that the actor's indifference is a relatively recent development, as back in early 2025, Ogg said it would be fun to see Trevor appear in GTA 6 as a small cameo at the start, just to get him killed – essentially repeating Johnny Klebitz's story. A small detail, sure, but still not something you'd describe as feeling "absolutely nothing inside."
And what about you, would you like to see Trevor getting stomped to the ground in GTA 6? Do you find Ogg's take pretentious? Let us know in the comments!
