Look forward to playing The Precinct this August.
Developer Fallen Tree Games and publisher Kwalee have shared a highly-anticipated update on The Precinct, a neo-noir policeman simulator with Grand Theft Auto vibes, announcing the official release date of the long-awaited sandbox.
Inspired by the turbulent New York of the 1980s, The Precinct puts you in the shoes of Officer Nick Cordell Jr., a rookie beat cop thrust into a world of high-octane car chases, procedurally-generated crimes, and a rich noir atmosphere. As you protect the citizens of Averno, you'll also unravel the mystery behind your father's murder in the line of duty.
A love letter to classic cop movies, The Precinct merges the detailed mechanics of a police simulator with the expansive action of a sandbox game, tasking you to patrol the streets, respond to callouts, and confront criminals, choosing your own tactics in thrilling chases and shootouts within a vibrant city, teeming with procedurally generated incidents, ranging from parking violations and bank heists to street races and drug deals.
Features:
- Explore a vibrant, living city by foot, squad car, and helicopter
- Respond to procedurally generated crimes ranging from parking violations to gang shootouts
- Engage in intense vehicle chases through destructible environments
- Go it alone or call in backup with an in-depth support system
- Investigate the gangs who rule the city and the dark conspiracies keeping them in control
- Day/night cycle with dynamic weather
As per the team's latest announcement, The Precinct is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 15, 2024. You can learn more about the game here and wishlist it over on Steam.
