GTA V Enhanced Received The Franchise's Record-Low Rating On Steam

Rockstar’s support is described as "completely useless" in resolving the issues.

Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto V has had some crazy achievements, such as being the fastest-selling entertainment product in history when it was released, selling a whopping 210 million copies by last December, and so on. Yet its newly released Enhanced version seems to suffer from some setbacks.

Rockstar released the Enhanced Edition for PCs last week. It features improvements like ray tracing and higher frame rates, offers additional content, and is free for GTA owners. However, only slightly over half, 54%, of the 20,000 players are happy with it at the time of writing this article, making it the lowest-rated GTA title on the platform. This not-so-glorious record was once kept by Grand Theft Auto III - The Definitive Edition, which got a 66% review score.

One of the primary complaints comes from players who are unable to migrate their accounts from the legacy version to the Enhanced Edition. Many feel extremely frustrated that their hundreds of hours of progress accumulated with nearly a decade of play are gone. Rockstar’s support is described as "completely useless" in resolving the issues, and even suggested players create a new one and start over.

Besides this major complaint, there are quite many other issues resulting in dissatisfaction, such as visual glitches and bugs, the removal of text chat from online mode, performance issues, et cetera.

These negative experiences from both the game itself and the lack of support from the developer have caused some concerns over the upcoming GTA VI, with one player saying: "The fact that they're just going to ignore us and not fix the account migration is really showing how bad rockstar is Starting to think gta vi is gonna be a disappointment."
