Half-Life: Alyx Revealed

Valve has finally presented the first footage of Half-Life: Alyx, its new game being created for VR headsets.

The game will be available for all PC-based VR headsets in March 2020. It's the company's first game since 2007’s Half-Life 2: Episode 2. The game is said to take place between the events of the first and second Half-Life stories, and the main heroes are Alyx Vance and her father Eli who formed a resistance group to fight The Combine.

You will play as who will have to explore the game's world exploration, solve puzzles, and fight enemies. “Everyone at Valve is excited to be returning to the world of Half-Life,” said Valve founder Gabe Newell in a press release. “VR has energized us. We’ve invested a lot of ourselves in the technology. But we’re also game developers at heart, and to be devoting ourselves to a VR game this ambitious is just as exciting.”

Valve states that the game will feature Source 2 tools for building new levels, so you will have the ability to build and share new environments. Hammer, Valve’s level authoring tool, received a new update, now featuring virtual reality gameplay tools and components.

Half-Life: Alyx uses the Source 2 engine, and will be released on Steam for all PC-based VR headsets. You can now pre-purchase now for $59.99. Please noted that the game will be free anyone who owns a Valve Index.
