The mod includes a challenging hour-long campaign for experienced Half-Life: Alyx players.
Half-Life: Alyx got a new action-packed mod called Incursion, which brings an hour-long campaign with wave-based combat to the VR game. Here's how the small team of developers describes the plot:
"When Alyx Vance is caught on the wrong side of the Quarantine Zone, she has only her wits, guns, and Russell to help her get back to City 17. But it won't be easy: the Combine have her trapped at one of their checkpoints, and she'll need to manage her resources and use clever tactics to escape...or stick around for some target practice."
Incursion offers non-linear objectives, an open arena with randomized enemy spawn locations, deployable tripmines, and a lot of new challenges. In fact, the latter is the reason the mod was made, according to the developers:
"We felt the campaign was a bit lacking in challenge as it is very friendly to new VR users. Consequently, this is a challenging level for experienced Half-Life: Alyx players."
First players note the mod's increased difficulty and intense fights as it made them sweat and frantically look for resources.
