A division of Hasbro launched a new AAA game studio that will be creating console and PC games based on some of the company's franchises. Among other classic franchises, the company owns Transformers and the action figure line of G.I. Joe soldiers.
The team will be working in North Carolina focusing on both console and PC games that are based on Hasbro properties. The studio is said to be helmed by veterans of the gaming industry, including former members of well-known studios like WB Games.
Some of the franchises that will be getting AAA games are Transformers, G.I. Joe, Micronauts, and Ouija. The first project is said to be a game based on the G.I. Joe franchise which was described as a third-person action-adventure title. They are now looking for individuals with AAA game development experience to work on a game with "third-person shooting mechanics and a robust melee combat system", powered by Unreal Engine.
