Have a Look at the Physics-Based Gliding Mechanic in an Upcoming Cozy Adventure Game
Leafing Home will come in March 2025.
Reddit user SchingKen has showcased the physics-based gliding mechanic for their upcoming game titled Leafing Home. The cute squirrel protagonist has taken a few flights on the leaf to cross a beautiful mountainous scenery.
You can almost feel the wind with the dynamic effect showing up when speeding up. The leaf can even be bent and held above to work as a parachute to prepare for a smooth landing.
The game allows players to choose a color for the leaf jet and also unlock new flight effects by opening treasure chests — as you can imagine, the best tool for a squirrel to open those chests is to use its teeth to bite them. While gliding, you can turn around to enjoy some free movements and change direction to explore areas where you are interested.
Leafing Home was just announced days ago. “With a cozy mix of exploration, platforming, flight challenges, and minigames, there's something for everyone in this adventure. Find your way home, make new friends, solve puzzles and retrieve the holy fruit.” You’ll be accompanied by a bee detective, Detlev, for your journey to retrieve the holy fruit taken away by a blue-footed booby.
Gliding is only part of the rich gameplay, as the announcement showcased more activities that will get you busy in the fun, magical world. You can plant to enjoy the fun of farming, make friends, solve various interesting puzzles, collect trash and recycle it for rewards, be a bartender to serve other animal friends, or be involved in a wide range of mini-games like a dance with fish, volleyball, curling, and a lot more.
