Hellena Taylor Says She Was First Offered $10,000 to Voice Bayonetta 3

New details are surfacing.

Bayonetta's former voice actor Hellena Taylor has shared new details about her deal with PlatinumGames, saying the company first offered her $10,000 to voice the character in the third part of the series. Taylor deemed the offer too low ("Remember, this is [a] 450 million dollar franchise," she said) and contacted Hideki Kamiya.

According to the actor, Kamiya said he valued her contribution to the game and then offered an extra $5,000. Taylor declined next heard from the company 11 months later when it offered her "a flat fee to voice some lines" for $4,000. "Any other lies, such as 4,000 for 5 sessions are total fabrications."

Taylor also denied asking for $250,000 for the role. "I am a team player. I was just asking for a fair, living wage in line with the value that I bring to this game."

"I was paid a shockingly low total of £3000 total for the first game. A little more for the second. I wanted to voice her. I have drummed up interest in this game ever since I started on Twitter in 2011."

Earlier, the new Bayonetta voice actor Jennifer Hale commented on the situation, saying she hopes that "everyone involved may resolve their differences in an amicable and respectful way."

Bayonetta 3 is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 28. Learn more about the scandal from Taylor's Twitter and don't forget to join our Reddit page and our Telegram channel, follow us on Instagram and Twitter, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
