You will have to download 125 GB of data.
Players waiting for the release of the epic space RPG discovered something interesting on the Starfield page on Amazon. The page revealed the start of the game's pre-load will begin "after August 9th." The same wording is used to indicate the release date of September 6.
Previously, players also discovered the game's size on the Xbox store page – it will take 125 gigabytes of your space. The game will also be included in the Play Anywhere program so if you buy Starfield on the Microsoft Store, you will get a copy for both PC and Xbox.
Some started wondering whether the development team planned several updates before the release – this would be a good reason for Bethesda to open pre-loading almost a month before launch. The developers have not yet officially shared details on the pre-loading process.
Owners of the Starfield Deluxe Edition will get access to the game on September 1st. You can follow the game on Twitter not to miss future updates.
Previously, a tag in the Microsoft Store suggested Starfield could support cross-platform saves so players could switch between PC and Xbox. Learn more here.
