Highly-Realistic 3D Smartphone Model That Looks Like a Real Video
Texturing practice, paying off.
Reddit user Silent-Opposite-6695 has recently wowed hundreds of people online by showcasing a mind-blowing 3D smartphone model that looks so realistic, it would have been impossible to tell that it's not a real-life video recording if it weren't for the table and the cup in the background, which are both clearly CG-made.
According to the creator, the project's goal was to practice 3D texturing, with the model itself still being a work in progress as the author plans to refine the scratches and make it clearer that they are located on the screen protector and not on the digital phone's actual screen. As for the software, Silent-Opposite-6695 utilized Blender, a free and open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX, to set up the model and its incredibly lifelike display.
