How Coronavirus Changed Our Lifestyle
We've talked to 6 artists and asked them about the influence of the pandemic on their lifestyle and what are their ways of spending free time now. Check the answers out
With the pandemic spreading across the globe and definitely changing our lifestyles for the upcoming weeks, we've asked some artists and game developers, how their day-to-day life has changed in the current situation. As you might have guessed, artists were quite used to quiet solitary work, so a change of pace actually didn't influence their lives that much.
Some people are taking the free time to create more art or finish old projects, others work remotely. Hardcore gamers spend their evenings playing Call of Duty to dum down the concerns about the foreseeable future and employment.
Here's what going on with different creatives during these strange times.
I'm also very bummed that the art conventions this year will likely be cancelled and due to my Visa restrictions, I don't have much time to spend here in the U.S. so I'll likely miss a good opportunity to create connections and meet with other great artists. On the bright side, it is also a good opportunity to work on my art and I would recommend other artists to do the same if you have any unfinished projects or some new projects that you want to work on now is a really good time to sharpen your skills. it is very important to keep yourself busy in order to remain calm until this situation ends. I hope everyone stays safe!

I’ve had much more free time to work on personal projects ever since this whole coronavirus situation started and ready at dawn is entirely work from home. This is great, but I definitely do miss not being isolated and being allowed to go outside. I’ve mainly just been relighting scenes and playing a lot of call of duty to pass the time.

With the coronavirus situation, my life hasn’t changed much because I’m working from home anyway. Of course, it’s a pity that I can’t go outside and I am missing my favorite season of the year, but on the other hand, it gives me some extra time to work on my personal projects and learn something new. Not sure how it affects the industry in general but all the artists now will understand what it feels to work remotely and whether it suits them or not. The only thing I can do now is to stay positive, calm, and healthy.

"I have had a lot of extra time indoors recently due to COVID-19, I am naturally a bit of a hermit, so it hasn’t affected me too badly, and I have my amazing partner and 3 awesome cats to keep me company! Obviously, I haven’t been able to physically go into University due to the lockdown here however we are still able to continue online.
Our Lectures have all been moved to interactive streams and we have been given access to all the software we need through floating licenses provided by the University as well as being able to talk to our lecturers when we need them. I really think they have done a fantastic job in such a short amount of time to get everything up and running for us all!
As I am soon to graduate (arrrgh) and will be looking for work, it’s a bit uncertain in these times if there will be many opportunities. I know some companies have moved to work from home but it isn’t always an available option for everyone.
Something that has helped me stay calm in these times is Discord. I own a server that has a lot of the current Students, Graduates, and our Lecturers from Staffordshire University in it. We can all hop into the voice chat and stream our screens, help each other with work, and also game together so it’s nice to still be able to socialize.

To be honest, most of the time I spend at home, so with the advent of quarantine, personally, my life mostly did not change. Now you just don’t need to visit university, and for educational institutions, there was a motivation to realize all the advantages of distance learning and begin developing this area in our country.
I always have something to keep myself at home. For example, it can be new projects, tutorials, next courses, studies, films or video games. It is important not to be afraid of isolation and learn to entertain yourself while sitting on four walls simply because you are the person with whom you have to spend your whole life. I really hope that the virus will be defeated as soon as possible, but as an optimist, I also see in forced isolation an occasion for many to better know themselves, their families and take up the things that you have been putting off for a long time. Take care of yourself and your health, stay at home whenever possible.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, my job has moved everyone into home-office. I can imagine the games and movie industry to suffer from this monetarily, which in the end will mean a lot of good artists losing their jobs.
It is up to the smarter studios to realize how many amazing artists will be back on the market and scoop up their chance. After all, no movie and no game can be made without the amazing artists working on it.
Of course, I want everyone to be safe, and if all you can do is be at home, then be that the best you can. Be creative, draw, paint, sculpt, and don't miss out on the chance of living out your creativity.

We'll see how this story develops. The overall consensus is that the industry will prevail, games are still quite popular and sales are going up. Let's just hope this whole thing will end soon and we'll be able to go outside to breathe some fresh air.
