How To Create Simple Animations Using 3D Gaussian Splats

Gabriele Romagnoli shared a workflow accessible for free through GVRM.

To capture himself in 3DGS, Gabriele Romagnoli used XGRIDS PortalCam, though any tool can work, as he shared. Next, he ensured the splat's orientation was correct using Supersplat, and then imported the file into GVRM by Naruya Kondo, a web-based 3D avatar system.

GVRM is a three.js implementation of the Instant Skinned Gaussian Avatars paper. More details are available here. "Done! You can set various animations, switch to different views, and even have multiple avatars walking around you", commented Gabriele.
