How To Save All Megascans Assets To Your Account

With the launch of Fab, Epic Games' new content marketplace that replaces the Unreal Engine Marketplace, Sketchfab, ArtStation Marketplace, and Quixel.com, it was revealed that the Quixel Megascans library will no longer be available for free starting next year.

Naturally, this news left many creators feeling disappointed and concerned about the future of the engine's development, as Megascans serves as an excellent resource for beginner artists. With the library transitioning to a paid model, learning Unreal Engine 5 will become more challenging, which could discourage new Unreal users from using this platform.

Software Engineer Jamie Phan quickly worked to find a solution to automatically save all Quixel assets while they're free to acquire. This script streamlines the process of adding items to your account: Tyson Butler-Boschma tested it, and it allowed him to add a total of 18,876 items in just five minutes. 

You can try the script by clicking this link, however, as Unreal Sensei pointed out, it remains unclear whether ownership of assets in Megascans will transfer to Fab:

We might need to wait for the Fab release to claim the assets, so let's hope someone creates a similar script for Fab to avoid having to add everything manually.
