How To Simplify UV Unwrapping In Blender
A tip from oyatsu009.
3D artist oyatsu009 shared a method to make UV unwrapping much easier, which apparently involves creating a shape key that represents a flattened version of the mesh and then projecting the UVs directly from that shape key. Then, you can use modeling tools to shape your UVs, like LoopTools or sculpting brushes, as oyatsu009 suggests.
