How To Speed Up Texturing In Blender With Trim Sheets & DreamUV

Kyokaz demonstrated hotspotting magic.

3D Artist Faiz Azhar, also known as Kyokaz, recently showcased a practical example of what DreamUV, a free, powerful set of UV manipulation tools for Blender, can do. This feature, which quickly allowed the artist to texture the scene, is called hotspotting, a technique that assigns UVs to UV islands by referencing a predefined UV atlas. DreamUV's Hotspot tool automatically searches for a suitably sized rectangle within the atlas and maps it onto the mesh geometry.
