Immortals of Aveum's Sales Skyrocket After a Huge Discount

"The story of Immortals isn't written yet."

You probably recall that Immortals of Aveum, an action-adventure magic shooter developed by Ascendant Studios, was released among huge hits like Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Baldur's Gate 3, and many others, so you might have even missed the game.

Earlier, we already talked about how the crowded season was a problem for Immortals of Aveum, as it was hard to compete with popular titles that everyone was waiting for.

Well, it was indeed a hardship, but it seems that the situation with Immortals of Aveum is now improving, with the main sales of the game spiking between November 2023 and January 2024. It's worth mentioning that the game's sales skyrocketed fivefold when it was offered at a 50% discount in November.

"When we did go on sale in November, and when the huge breakout games started to quiet down a bit, suddenly we had five times the sales that we had earlier. And that's testament to the fact that people were now discovering it and had the time to play it," says Ascendant Studios Founder Bret Robbins in an interview with GamesIndustry.biz.

The release of a demo version further boosted sales, offering users access to the first three chapters of Immortals of Aveum at no cost. Following the demo, three times more users purchased the game compared to standard sales figures for projects released by Electronic Arts.

"If you look at the journey of most companies, even the huge ones, it's usually a crooked path. How many times did someone like Amazon almost go bankrupt? Our story is just starting. Immortals was chapter one for Ascendant. And we'll keep having more chapters," concluded. Robbins.

Robbins is pretty optimistic about the game's future, that's the spirit! Hopefully, everything goes as the company plans.

As for now, the game has a "mostly positive" status on Steam, with over 75% positive feedback from players.
