Joy of 3D provided an early look at their entry for the ongoing AnimChallenge contest.
3D Character Artist Sam, known online as Joy of 3D, has recently amazed the digital art community by presenting a series of early demos showcasing a work-in-progress animation they're making for the ongoing AnimChallenge contest.
In case you missed it, Agora's latest challenge is centered around Arcane, a beloved TV series whose long-awaited sequel is set to premiere this Saturday, inviting Digital Artists to create Arcane-themed animations in any style they desire, with great prizes promised to the winners. Joy of 3D was among the first to start working on their entry, impressing the audience even before the final sequence was unveiled.
To create the animation, the artist utilizes Blender, a free and open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, and VFX, along with XPea's Vi and Jinx rigs. Attached below is the latest showcase shared by the creator, depicting the two sisters engaging in a duel – something we'll definitely see in the soon-to-be-aired Season 2:
